About Tokopedia

Established in 2009, Tokopedia is a tech company that aims to implement a thorough and equal digital economy in Indonesia. Tokopedia has established a super ecosystem that enables everyone to easily start and find anything in Tokopedia. In fact, Tokopedia has more than 90 million monthly active users connected with over 7,8 million merchants that sell more than 250 million products to more than 97% of kecamatan all over Indonesia. In 2019, more than 1% of economic activities in Indonesia occurred within Tokopedia.

As one of the biggest tech companies in Indonesia, Tokopedia has sufficient needs for network infrastructure to support its flexible digital workspace.

 

Problem and Resolution

The millennial generation works very differently than previous generations, particularly given the availability of technologies that enable employee mobility. Employees are no longer needed to work in the same area all of the time, thanks to technology and the bring your own device (BYOD) trend. They can now be productive from any location. Tokopedia recognized this and instituted the digital workspace concept, in which technology is utilized and integrated into their work environment in order to increase productivity, foster collaboration, and promote innovation.

However, when implementing the digital workplace concept, there are a number of factors that must be focused on, including ensuring flexibility in addressing user needs as well as the reliability and security of the current network infrastructure. To meet this need, Tokopedia partnered with Helios Informatika Nusantara and Aruba.
