Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – A subsidiary of Computrade Technology International (CTI), Helios Informatika Nusantara collaborates with Aruba Networks, a wireless network provider, to support the adoption of Mobile Engagement and ClearPass solutions in Indonesia.
With the significantly increasing mobile device and internet service users in the country, companies in Indonesia must be ready to face the era of mobility and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) that is growing rapidly.
Royani Lo, the Director of Helios Informatika Nusantara, stated that currently as many as 52 million people in Indonesia already use smartphones with 88.11 million internet services.
According to her, it also brings an opportunity for public venue management to improve engagement and service to visitors who are connected to the public venue management Wi-Fi network.
“Unfortunately, companies have yet to take advantage of the opportunity to improve customer experience, and they only keep providing general information,” said Royani in her written statement, Monday (21/9/2015).
Royani is optimistic that Aruba could be the solution to personalize customer experience according to the user’s identity and location.
Additionally, Aruba is going to combine software and hardware in the form of navigation, Wi-Fi, internet access, and indoor venue app so that public venues could insert modified services in the form of messages and promotions to customers’ mobile devices.
According to Royani, the solution is also equipped with a Meridian platform to gather location-based information from visitors and Aruba Beacon that could detect visitors’ location and become a direction pointer during their venue visit.
“We are optimistic that the advantages that Aruba has, combined with Helios’ technical team, could aid business partners in designing mobile engagement and BYOD solutions for corporate customers,” she remarked.
According to a research by Aruba, as many as 30% of employees in the Asia-Pacific region experience data loss due to mobile device misuse. This circumstance is triggered by the attitude of BYOD users who are commonly 25-34 years old and tend to have low awareness of information security, in which 68% of them often exchange mobile devices with colleagues.
Moreover, the rise of mobile device users becomes the main growth driver for the BYOD market with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 25.32% from 2014 to 2019. However, the rise of the BYOD trend has actually raised concerns for companies on the security side.
“This collaboration will also open up opportunities for developers in developing Meridian platform-based mobile apps,” she noted.
