If you have a Samsung smartphone, you have probably heard of Samsung Knox, the company’s proprietary security system. Did you know, though, that Samsung Knox also comes in a more robust enterprise flavour?
In a press conference held on Thursday (23/02/2017) in Jakarta, Samsung Electronics Indonesia’s IT and Mobile B2B Group Head Roy Nugroho described Samsung Knox as a security platform with three powerful features: manageability, security, and customization.
The first feature, he claims, is the ability to switch between a personal and business setting on a mobile device thanks to its manageability. There will be a variety of arrangements tailored to the business’s rules for managing the vehicle device that all of its employees use in accordance with the rules that the business itself determines in order to easily monitor the performance of its employees.
The second is security, which is primarily concerned with protecting the information stored on mobile devices. Here, protection is not limited to software; it is also hardwired into the hardware, keeping sensitive company information safe at all times. Disabling the camera, the ability to take screenshots, the ability to reset the device to factory settings, and so on are all good examples of this.
“For instance, when in working mode and the employee discovers important and secret data and wants to try to take a screenshot, the feature does not work at all,” explains Deddy Sudja, President of Helios.
While the latter is customized, it enables the company to implement a variety of specialized applications in accordance with its rules in order to improve employee performance. In addition, this function enables mobile device startup customization in accordance with the company’s logo or slogan.
The partnership between Helios and Samsung Electronics Indonesia has already resulted in the presentation of the Samsung Knox enterprise version on the Helios enterprise mobility solution. This solution will eventually be implemented on a wide range of mobile gadgets, including smartphones, tablets, and wearables like smartwatches.
“Through this partnership, we hope to emphasize the significance of security,” Roy explained. (FHP/MS)
